The summer solstice and the entry of the Sun in Cancer is the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere today.
Since the Sun is so bright now, this is a time to pay tribute to the blessings of the Sun and the light. To mark the half of the year, a time in which we can assess the direction of our lives and make sure we're on the right path.
For the celts, the day of the solstice, or Litha, is a time to rejoice and embrace the solar energy that brings vitality and energy to all. According to the folklore, pagan, evil spirits are around the solstice, so they use herbs and flowers to shoo them.
